PLACE CARDS
A 'MUST HAVE' FOR YOUR WEDDING RECEPTION
Place cards are traditionally placed on each table to direct guests to their seat for the wedding reception. If you are having a sit-down dinner and serving different menu options, your wedding venue will require you to have place cards so they can see who chose chicken and who opted for the fish.
PLACE CARDS vs ESCORT CARDS
Escort cards direct guests to a table, whereas place cards direct guests to a specific seat. Escort cards are usually displayed together just before the entrance to the wedding reception room so guests can find their table for the night. Once guests arrive at their table, they're free to choose their own seats.
PLENTY OF MATERIALS TO CHOOSE FROM
Place cards can be created in a variety of materials to make sure they match your wedding reception décor.
Materials that I've used so far are:
High quality card
Handmade paper
Vellum
Clear acrylic
Frosted acrylic
Acrylic with painted backs
Wood
Slate
Pebbles
Wax seals or silk ribbons can also be added to some materials for an extra finishing touch.
